Taxco silver: the 250-year-old mountain town where every other doorway opens onto a silver workshop — and this is what comes out of those workshops.

Handcrafted sterling silver earrings from Taxco, the world-famous center of Mexican silversmithing. Their luminous silver and sculptural half-circle design reflect the artistry that has made Taxco jewelry sought after for generations. Bold yet timeless, these earrings are wearable art — pieces with enough presence to carry an outfit and enough restraint to work everywhere you go. Length is 2 inches; width is 1.5 inches.

About Taxco silver

Taxco de Alarcón in the state of Guerrero has been Mexico's silver capital since the 18th century. The families working there today hand-finish every piece. There is no Taxco silver assembly line — there is only the platero and the metal, the same way it has always been in those mountain workshops.

Styling

Against a black turtleneck, the half-circle silhouette and red stone read as a composition. With a white shirt and dark jeans, they carry the entire look without effort. These are the earrings that make people ask — the ones that reward a closer look.

Care

Polish with a soft silver cloth. Store in an airtight pouch or anti-tarnish bag. Avoid perfume, lotion, chlorine, and water.

Frequently asked questions

Are these really sterling silver?
Yes — .925 sterling silver, hand-finished in Taxco, Guerrero, Mexico.

What is the red stone?
A rich red stone hand-set by the platero in the sculptural silver setting. The stone provides a warm color contrast against the lustrous silver.

Will Taxco sterling silver tarnish?
All sterling silver tarnishes over time. A quick polish with a silver cloth brings Taxco pieces right back to their original brightness.

What is the width of these earrings?
Width is 1.5 inches — wide enough for a strong visual presence, compact enough for daily wear.
