Some pieces look like they belong on a runway. This one looks like it belongs in a private collection — because that is exactly where it came from.

Handcrafted in Taxco, Mexico's mountain silver capital, these dangle earrings carry the kind of quiet authority that only comes from hand-finishing. The flowing design moves with the wearer, catching light at every angle, and the deep blue stones at the center anchor all that silver movement with a cool, still focal point. Three inches long, half an inch wide — a refined balance between a true statement earring and something you can actually wear on a Tuesday.

About Taxco silver

Taxco de Alarcón, high in the mountains of Guerrero, has been Mexico's silversmithing capital for more than 250 years. The plateros who work there today are the inheritors of a craft lineage that runs back to the 18th century — hand-finishing every piece, stamping it with the regional .925 mark, and producing work that serious collectors recognize on sight. These earrings carry that heritage in every detail.

Styling

With a black turtleneck, the combination of flowing silver and deep blue reads sophisticated and deliberate. With a white sundress in summer, they carry enough weight to anchor the whole look. For evening wear, the movement of the dangle design does the work that most jewelry only aspires to.

Care

Polish with a soft silver cloth. Store in an airtight pouch or anti-tarnish bag. Avoid perfume, lotion, chlorine, and water. Avoid exposing the stones to harsh chemicals or prolonged direct sunlight.

Frequently asked questions

What makes Taxco silver recognizable?
Taxco silver is known for its hand-finished quality, sculptural design sensibility, and the use of .925 sterling. The town's plateros have been refining these techniques for over two centuries — the look is distinctive and widely imitated but rarely matched.

Are these vintage or current production?
These earrings are vintage, sourced from private collections — not current production pieces.

Are they heavy to wear?
At 85 g for the pair, these are substantial earrings. Comfort will vary by wearer; many customers find the hook-back distributes weight well for extended wear.

Will silver dangle earrings tarnish?
All sterling silver can develop a patina over time. A quick, gentle polish with a silver cloth restores the original finish.
