Sourced from a private Oaxacan collection. Circa 1970. There is no second one.
This circa-1970 Oaxacan silver filigree necklace is an heirloom in the precise sense of the word: a piece that was made to outlast its maker and has done exactly that. Hand-wrought strands of sterling silver form an airy, intricate design in the filigrana oaxaqueña tradition — patient, precise, and unmistakably refined. Luminous pearls punctuate the metalwork, softening the silver's brilliance with organic warmth. The original clasp is intact. At 36 inches and 112 grams, it has the substantial presence of museum-quality work and the wearability of a piece made to be worn, cherished, and passed on.
This necklace was made during what collectors consider the golden era of Oaxacan silver artistry — the 1960s and 1970s, when family workshops in the historic jewelry quarter produced filigrana at a level of ambition and labor that is almost entirely absent from contemporary production. The craftsmanship reflects that era: each wire hand-twisted, each element individually soldered, the whole built from patience that few workshops today will invest. It was sourced directly from a private Oaxacan collection.
A 36-inch filigree necklace commands a simple backdrop — a clean neckline, a solid color. Wear it over a black dress and let it carry the room. Pair it with a crisp white blouse for a look that reads as deeply considered without being formal.
Polish gently with a soft silver cloth. Store flat in an airtight case to protect the filigree structure. Do not expose to chemicals or moisture.

Beautiful and well made…very unique
Absolutely spectacular show stopping earrings! Adore them!
Beautiful and well made; unlike Mexican earrings of the old days, they are a bit lighter even though they look substantial. Not quite like their picture…but OK, still lovely.
